ISTP who can't fix their car (not verified)says...

That's why you shouldn't base your assessment on stereotypes, but rather on your cognitive function. Some free online MBTI test websites are swarmed with what things you should excel at, what type of work and hobby you should do, etc. They are not always accurate because those kind of things are not decided by your cognitive function. It depends primarily on your personal interest and preference.
Any types can love anything and do any kind of works to some extend. I'm a civil engineer with a master's degree who loves technology, music, and graphic design. I already made some bucks from doing music production, playing as session keyboardist, and making social media content and website for some company. My cognitive function allows me to do those things with a high standard to the point that I could be paid for it. But I would struggle with repairing a car, building a dog house, or anything like those simply because I don't have interest in them.

At first I also thought maybe I'm an INTP (because of engineering & technology) or even an ISFP (because of art), but my cognitive function don't fall on those types. I can't be an INTP because I don't have extraverted intuition (consciously searching for abstract ideas) and introverted sensing (related with sense of routine, doing things in an organized manner, etc). I'm still not sure about how my judging function works, but I'm pretty sure that feeling is not my dominant function. So I can't be an ISFP.
That's why I'm certain I'm an ISTP even if I have a broad interest in things that are "not so ISTP".

As for a job suggestion, I suggest that you do some research beforehand about how your cognitive function will inclined to your potential job settings. If by technology you mean information technology, you could be a software engineer, UI/UX designer, IT consultant, etc. Those career ops seem fine with an ISTP.
