Now I know why, over these past months, I'd suddenly taken to photographing flowers on my daily walks and posting them to Instagram and why I've taken up online chakra dance and workout classes. After being widowed years ago, I started a list of activities I like spending time at, but some require travel and being in crowds. Despite being fortunate in my personal circumstances during this period of self-isolation, I'd begun feeling "bummed out." Increasingly, things have been too quiet, and I've missed making connections and making a difference in my usual volunteer activities. I see now how I might handle that loss.
