Oh! I so relate to your friend, but because I learned about the enneagram before I was diagnosed I never connected it to me being autistic! I am definitely a social 7w6, but I had a very hard time typing myself and was stuck between 7 and 9 for the loooongest time. Every time I would look into a comparison betweeb the types, the author would always say something along the lines of "these two should be easy to tell apart once you learn more about each one" but it wasnt for me. I feel like when I am masking (autistic camouflaging) I present as more of a 9, but my true self is really a 7. The thing that truly helped me figure my type was listening and watching hours and hours of panels and hearing different people with different experiences but the same enneagram all answer the same question.
