That is a perfectly fine and valid reaction. After being mistyped for a few years, and then finally working it all out after tons of research into the cognitive functions, I found that I am an INTJ, and it was a freeing experience.
Having lived all my life deeply misunderstood, bullied and scapegoated, and feeling like even my strengths were fundamental flaws that had to be changed in the eyes of everyone around me, I was excited and relieved when I started listening to the experiences of other INTJ's. So, that is absolutely a possible reaction.
